waterdripAbbotsford bylaw officers have had to issue several warnings, but no fines so far for people violating the city watering ban.

Mayor Henry Braun says residents have really stepped up to help conserve water.

“We peaked out at the end of June at about 108 megalitres, or 108 million litres, per day. Since the ban that has steadily decreased to where we were at 89 million litres yesterday.”

Braun says  the city has issued 262 first warnings and 12 second warnings.

He says the sprinkling ban will likely be in place for the rest of the summer.
