(NEWS 1130) RCMP say a 22-year-old man from Blairmore, Alberta has been arrested in the community, but his name is not being released.

Officers are still looking for two-year-old Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette who disappeared from the town yesterday.

Mounties say the man was arrested in connection with the little girl’s disappearance and her father’s death. Terry Blanchette, 27, was found dead inside the same home Hailey went missing from.

No charges have been laid.

A white van has been found, but Mounties have not confirmed it to be the suspect vehicle.

The suspect vehicle is described as a newer model white van with a aerial buggy whip on the back.

Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette disappeared from her home around 3:30 a.m. Thursday. She described as 2’1? and 29 lbs with light brown straight hair with bangs and brown eyes.

Police Superintendent Tony Hamori says officers are worried too. “We’re all hoping and praying we’re going to find her safely and we have tremendous resources dedicated in that regard, trying to find her.”

Blairmore is about 220 kilometres southwest of Calgary and close to the BC border.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.

An Amber Alert remains in effect in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Montana.
