smoke2If you’d like to know more about air quality in the Fraser Valley, there’s a forum happening tonight (MON) at the Abbotsford UFV campus. Rebecca Abernethy, an environmental policy analyst at the FVRD, says they’re developing a new air quality and climate protection plan, and sharing information and getting feedback is part of that plan.

“We have monitoring stations that have been reporting trends for many years.  We want to share the information we’ve been collecting, and we also want to hear from the public…we want to hear what their questions and concerns are with respect to air quality and give the community an opportunity to share their priorities.”

She says reps from the Environment Ministry, Fraser Health, UFV, UBC and the BC Centre for Disease Control will all be presenting, and it will be followed by a Q&A if you have any questions. It starts at 7 tonight and it’s free to attend.

Doors open at 6:30pm, event 7 – 9 pm.
