jam in jubileeJam In Jubilee is looking for performers for its summer concert series.

Committee member Kristin van Vloten says artists can get in touch through the Jam In Jubilee website, but says there won’t be an official audition.

“Generally we will look at whatever that band has up on the internet. Usually bands will have some sort of recording that we can stream off their website, or bandcamp page or youtube channel, so we’ll just look at that.”

van Vloten says they have also launched a Kickstarter campaign to help with costs.

She says while the event is run by volunteers, there are still a number of fees associated with the concerts.

“Renting the park, getting supplies, paying for fencing, paying for security guards. And then down to paying for the performers themselves, making sure everybody gets a fair fee for their contribution to the festival.

van Vloten says they used to collect donations at the concerts, but says fewer and fewer people carry cash so online seemed to be the way to go.
