Abbotsford’s very own Mackenzie Skapski – a 20-year-old rookie goaltender from the New York Rangers’ AHL farm team: The Hartford Wolf Pack – is having the time of his life.

Skapski earned his first ever NHL shutout after a 2-0 win over the Buffalo Sabres this past Saturday in just only his second start.  Skapski was called up on February 4th when starting goalie Henrik Lundqvist was sidelined after suffering a neck injury.  He played his first NHL game on February 20th and earned his first ever NHL win against the very same team on that night: a 3-1 win over Buffalo.

Skapski played in the Abbotsford minor hockey program and was drafted by the New York Rangers in 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
