Trending on Twitter – Unlikely Time Change Effects. Well, I’ve slept in nearly every day. So I’m happy to put the blame on DST. lol

Firstly, sad news today from United Airlines where a puppy passed away mid-flight. According to witnesses, the mother (who had a young girl and infant with her), was told by an attendant she had to place the puppy carrier in the overhead compartment. Despite the woman explaining her 10-month-old puppy was in the carrier, the flight attendant insisted. The puppy is said to have barked for a half hour, and then quieted. Upon de-boarding, it was found lifeless in the carrier. The airline has since taken full responsibility.

From the Washington Post:

According to accounts from fellow passengers on United Flight 1284, a flight attendant demanded that a woman traveling with the puppy and her two children place the puppy in its carrier inside the overhead bin for the duration of the flight. The woman protested, witnesses said, but the flight attendant assured her that the dog would be safe, and told her the family would not be allowed to travel if she refused to stow the dog in the bin.

When the airplane landed at LaGuardia Airport and the owner opened the overhead bin, the puppy was no longer breathing.

“This was a tragic accident that should never have occurred, as pets should never be placed in the overhead bin,” a United spokeswoman said in a statement Tuesday. “We assume full responsibility for this tragedy and express our deepest condolences to the family and are committed to supporting them.”

So tragic.

A bull loose in New York state … again!

And typically when we hear a celebrity suing a tabloid, they win, right? Not this time. Richard Simmons has been ordered to pay the National Enquirer  $130k after he tried to sue the publication for falsely reporting that he’d had a sex change.

From the LA Times:

Six months after dismissing Richard Simmons’ libel-invasion of privacy suit against the National Enquirer, Radar Online and their publisher over stories claiming he was undergoing a sex change, a judge ordered the exercise guru to pay nearly $130,000 in attorneys’ fees to the media defendants, court papers obtained Monday show.

Yikes.
