Crime Spree GunAbbotsford Police say a woman and her child are shaken but otherwise okay after a suspect pointed what appeared to be a gun at them during a robbery last night at a strip mall on George Ferguson Way at Gladwin Road.
Constable Ian MacDonald says officers swooped in and managed to get the man to surrender, and the weapon turned out to be a BB gun.
But he adds it could have ended much worse:

“There is no way that a person would be able to determine whether that’s a real gun or not and you’re certainly not going to bet your life on it.  I think our officers did an amazing job last night.  Not only did they affect the arrest of this one man crime spree within 8 minutes…they probably saved his life last night as well.”

A 57-year-old man has been charged.
