The CP Holiday Train is going to be rolling into Agassiz this Friday evening. Salem Woodrow with CP says this is the biggest fundraising event on wheels.

“Since 1999, we’ve been travelling across Canada and the US along our network, reaching more than 150 communities, raising money, food and awareness for food banks and hunger issues.  Folks are encouraged to come to the show, bring a non-perishable food item.  Every event is free, and everything that is raised in the community stays in the community for local distribution.”

The train will arrive at the tracks across from the Agra Centre on Pioneer Ave around 5pm on Friday, and the show will be from 5:15-5:45. Country singer Kelly Prescott, Jim Cuddy from Blue Rodeo, and his son Devin will be performing.

Again this year, they’re encouraging people attending to bring heart healthy donations…their community investment program, CP Has Heart, focuses on improving the heart health of men, women and children.
