Yuk_Yuks_LogoHere’s one more reason to stay in the valley on a weekend instead of heading into Vancouver. Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Club has a new location opening in Abbotsford. One of the owners, Richard Murphy, says he’s excited about the design and setup.

“Upstairs we’ve got the Yuk Yuk’s…we’ve fully renovated the room.  It’s got a black and gray scale colour scheme with lots of brick, so that’s going to look really cool.  Downstairs we’ve got ‘Nineteen Thirty-Three’, which is going to be a Speakeasy with a 1930’s prohibition type look.”

He says because they’re a new location, they need to hire….and they have a lot of jobs available.

“We’re looking to fill about 45 positions…everything from general manager, kitchen manager, bartenders, servers, security….everything that’s needed to run a successful restaurant, we need to hire.”

If you’d like to apply, there’s a hiring fair this Saturday from 10-5 at the TravelLodge on Pauline St. They’ll interview on the spot, and then do call backs next week.

The club is set to open in December.  We will keep you posted on the exact date, and Murphy says you can expect a great act for the grand opening, with some fun surprises.  He says they’ll be sharing a lot of the big name acts that perform at the Vancouver location.
