It wasn’t just the grown ups who voted in the federal election.
Students in elementary and secondary schools across the country voted as well. But even though their votes didn’t count toward the real world result, here in the Valley at least, it appears the apple really doesn’t fall far from the tree. In fact, the kids here would’ve elected the same people who actually won. In Chilliwack-Hope, Mark Strahl was elected ahead of Louis De Jaeger by very close 34-31% margin. In Abbotsford, Ed Fast narrowly beat the Liberal candidate. And in the Mission Fraser Canyon riding, Liberal Jati Sidhu scored a decisive win over the Conservatives. Interestingly, more kids in the Valley voted for the Green Party than the NDP.
