We lost a legend this past weekend.  Linda Corscadden is the Vice President of the BCCMA, and she penned this lovely tribute.

Rest in Peace Don Adams

It’s with a very heavy heart that I learned of the passing of a very dear friend of ours this morning, Don Adams. Don passed peacefully at 4:45 this morning.

Don came on board to the BCCMA’s in 2007 as President, with his great team of executives: Nicole Hyette-Muncey as Executive Director, Linda Corscadden as Vice President and Sue Irving as Secretary/Treasurer along with an amazing team of directors throughout his 6 years in the ‘prez chair’

His main focus was to nourish and cultivate our youth, as they are the future of Country Music. Don retired his seat as the president of the BCCMA in 2012 but continued to exhibit an unusual sense of achievement, care and love for every artist in his path. A fantastic warped sense of humour, a tireless job of promoting artists/bands in all possible means available, and one of the biggest hearts in the whole music industry; that was Don Adams.

This industry has lost a legend today. All those that knew Don, knew he had his own ‘style’ in every way. From his lovely (being sarcastic) gold sweat suit to his shiny black & white penguin shoes and his F*CK BABY attitude, he brought smiles & laughter to everyone around him.

Don brought so much to this community, this crazy music industry we call family. I learned a lot from him…he made my life a better place and I’m really going to miss him.

There’s going to be one helluva party ‘up there’ with him, Diana Kelly, Jack Hunter and Todd Nelson there… a new country festival begins, I’ll hear it every time there’s thunder.

One of Don’s favorite quotes was ‘If you don’t challenge yourself to be better, you never will… and don’t worry if you’ve made a few enemies along the way, it just means you did something right’ — RIP Don, love ya baby xoxo

From everyone at Country 107.1, our thoughts and prayers with Don, his family, friends, and our entire Country Music Community.
Thanks to Nicole Muncey for this awesome pic.  RIP Don.
