2015-Showcase LogoThe BC Hockey League have been holding the Bauer BCHL Showcase for 4 years now, and every year it’s been held in Chilliwack. League Commissioner John Grisdale says there are good reasons for that.

“It’s pretty hard to pass up, considering they have such a beautiful facility like that, and the support of the community and the Chiefs…they’re a wonderful organization.  In the past we’ve always had our event run out of both rinks.  It’s also quite central for everybody coming in.  The willingness of the organization and the community to do it was also big, and the hotels and hospitality provided has always been pretty good.”

Scouts from all over North America, including NHL Central Scouting, will be in town as well, and there are some players to watch….there are 2 early projected NHL 1st round picks playing for Penticton (Tyson Jost and Dante Fabbro).

This year all but one of the games will be played on the main rink at Prospera Centre. All 17 teams will be in town for 2 games each this weekend. The first match is Thursday morning at 10….the hometown Chiefs play tomorrow night vs Penticton.

There will also be education seminars for families this weekend where they’ll hear from college scouts about scholarship opportunities.
