Blueberry supplier expands operations in the valley

A commercial blueberry and raspberry supplier is expanding its operations in the valley. Berryhill Foods will be building a 35,000 sq foot operation on Kerr Ave in Chilliwack. Brian Coombs with CEPCO says they already have a location in Abbotsford, and are already working with local blueberry growers.

“They’re so please with the fact that many of the growers that they work with here are well established agricultural families.  They see that as a positive for their business….the fact that these people are committed to the blueberry industry. There’s so much growth and opportunity within North America and also into the export markets overseas.”

Coombs says this will be creating new jobs. The Fraser Valley accounts for 95% of the blueberry production in BC, and this province is one of the largest suppliers of it in North America.
