Suspect arrested after standoff in Mission

A suspect is in custody after a lengthy standoff with police in Mission this weekend.
It all started Friday afternoon when a man walked into the Scotiabank downtown demanding money and claiming he had a bomb. Police saw the suspect later that night and he ended up fleeing to a house on Fleming Ave where he broke in and took a woman inside hostage. He eventually let her go early Saturday morning, and gave himself up 2 hours later. He’s a 34 yr old with an extensive criminal record, and it’s believed he’s responsible for a recent robbery in Abbotsford as well.
