Grewal out as Mission Matsqui fraser Canyon Conservative candidate

Liv Grewal is no longer the Conservative Candidate for the Mission Matsqui Fraser Canyon riding.

Grewal, the son of Fleetwood-Port Kells MP Nina Grewal, won the nomination in May, beating out five other canadidates.

According to a story in the Vancouver Sun, he was removed after an internal review in to allegations his camp paid for party memberships for people during the nomination process.

A party spokesperson says the Conservatives investigate any suggestion of rules breaking and confirmed Grewal has been removed as candidate.

Grewal denies the allegations and in a news release claims he withdrew rather than being forced out.
