Abbotsford council to discuss flag policy

During the recent discussion when Abbotsford Council approved flying the pride flag, it was decided the City needed a policy in place so that council wouldn’t have to have a vote each time someone made a request.
That policy is being introduced to council this afternoon.
According to the policy the City would always fly the BC, Canada, and Abbotsford flags.
In addition, the mayor and city manager have the option to approve flags from the UN, official sister cities, other countries if a representative is visiting, or any flags required by contractual obligation.
