hot-weather-3The heat wave is doing nothing to help local fire crews.
Another big fire in Abbotsford yesterday, where a spark from an excavator caused a pile of mulch to go up in flames, and then spread to a greenhouse on Smith Ave. Crews were fighting it for the better part of the afternoon.
That was one of 32 new fires across BC yesterday, bringing this years total to 779 so far.
26 more temperature records were set across the province yesterday as well, including Chilliwack where it was 34.6, breaking the previous record set in 1906.
