heat waveMeteorologist Russ Lecate says temperatures could nudge their way to around 35 degrees this weekend, and that the UV index will probably be above 8.

That’s a high risk for sunburn, so you’ll want to make sure you have plenty of sunscreen.

Lecate says we’ll see a lot of similar weather all summer, although perhaps not always this intense.

“All indications on the long range charts are pointing towards a warmer sunnier and drier than normal summer season in the Fraser Valley and all the neighboring areas. But this heat wave we’re advertising is likely only going to hold up for about five or six days.”

Lecate says we’re already in borderline drought conditions with how dry things were in May and June, and says we’re not likely to see any change over the next couple of months.
