Mission fire fighters off to Nepal for rescue efforts

Two Mission firefighters are on their way to Nepal to help searchers find missing people in the wake of Saturday’s devestating earthquake.

Fire Chief Larry Watkinson and Captain Norm MacLeod will join a dozen other firefighters from Metro Vancouver in a response to Nepal’s request for aid.

They’ll be taking taking trained dogs along to search for survivors.

Mission mayor Randy Hawes there are plenty of experienced assistant chiefs in Mission so local residents’ safety won’t be compromised.
