future shopFuture Shop stores across Canada are closing, Best Buy Canada has confirmed.  Company spokesman Thierry Lopez says 66 Future Shops will close for good, while 65 others will become Best Buy Stores.  Lopez says the converted stores will reopen after a one-week closure.

The move will mean there will be a total of 192 Best Buys in Canada.

Lopez says 500 full-time and 1,000 part-times jobs will lost.
