The District of Mission says it was something they couldn’t have prepared for.  Around 10 homes on MaCrae Ave were hit by flash flooding on Saturday when a culvert plugged with debris at a nearby creek overflowed.  Some of the homes were severely damaged and the homeowners are temporarily moving out.  Owners claim they notified the district about the culvert before, and nothing was done to correct it.  Environment Canada had issued a rainfall warning, but the district says they were caught off guard by the scope of the rainfall.
